Dumire Receives Award For Dedication To Our Four-Legged Friends
Frost, WV – During the annual Pocahontas County Chamber of Commerce dinner, Jerry Ramos presented the Chamber’s Individual Community Involvement Award to someone who has dedicated much of her life to caring for the four-legged creatures among us.
“The Community Involvement Award for an Individual is awarded to a person who has devoted much of her time caring for those who have no voice in this community,” said Ramos. “Just plain caring has been the routine day for Jane Dean Dumire’s commitment to the Humane Society of Pocahontas County.”
Ramos said Dumire has done what has to be done, whether trapping a cat in a tight space, tracking down an iguana on the loose, or moving animals out of harms way. He said her efforts have led to the spaying or neutering of more than 1,000 animals in the county.

“The number one thing that I think us business people need to recognize is that our customer is our boss,” said Beckwith. “You have to satisfy your customer.”
Beckwith attributed much of his success in the lumber business over the last four decades to a relationship with God and his local elected officials.
