Frost VFD donates $500 to AMR

Frost, W.Va. – On Friday, July 13, Sarah Hedrick of the Frost Volunteer Fire Department presented Allegheny Mountain Radio with a check for $500 in appreciation of the stations’ work during the recent power outage.

“I’m blown away!” said AMR Acting General Manager Heather Niday, “The firemen and rescue squads of our area are the true heroes. We were just doing our job. To be recognized by the Frost Fire Department like this is one of the biggest honors we have ever received.”

Niday announced she will recommend to her Board of Directors that the Fire Department donation be used to start a special fund for purchase of equipment to make AMR better able to assist the authorities and inform the public in future emergencies.
