Mountain Hospice holding fundraiser at Bob Evans on Friday

November is National Hospice Month. If you’re shopping in Elkins on Friday, Mountain Hospice will receive 15% of every item purchased at Bob Evans from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, November 21.

Lesha Edinger, grant and endowment coordinator for Mountain Hospice, said the fundraiser will become a monthly event with varying days. To check which days Bob Evans will be donating in the future, make sure to check the organization’s Facebook page.

Mountain Hospice, established in 1991, cares for terminally-ill patients and their families with the long-standing goal of providing “comfort and compassion when it’s needed most” in Barbour, Mineral, Randolph, Tucker, Pendleton, Grant, and Pocahontas counties. Currently, approximately 80 families in Pocahontas County are being served by Hospice.

“Regardless of their ability to pay we provide quality and exceptional care for them, so we do write grants and we have fundaisers,” Edinger said.

The discount at Bob Evans applies to dine-in or carry out orders.

“When you go to Bob Evans, the server will bring your check but then when you walk up to counter to pay, and it’s when you’re standing at the counter getting ready to pay, that you tell the check out person, I’m here to support Mountain Hospice.”

“They have fliers that I’m dropping off to them today. They’ll have them under the counter and they will just staple them to their order and 15% of their order will come directly to Mountain Hospice.”
