Allegheny Mountain Radio Staff
Diane Buzzard is the AMR Interim General Manager and previously served as Station Coordinator for WVMR. She is also the host of Buzzard's Roost and is our Sunday morning host Diane is a Greenbrier County, West Virginia native. She now lives in Pocahontas County with her husband Jim and daughter Colleen.  Diane enjoys shopping, and is a talented Wedding Planner.

Chuck Niday is the Allegheny Mountain Radio Chief Engineer (with an FCC General Radio telephone License), a volunteer DJ co-hosting a Wednesday evening show, Something Different (with his wife Heather), and an Amateur Radio Operator with a General Class license. Chuck is also an accomplished musician, having played the baritone horn with the Richmond Concert Band for 10 years. He also has a general aviation private pilot?s license. His broadcasting experience spans three decades and multiple radio stations, and his engineering work includes radio-related work in Virginia with the Department of Transportation, the State Police, Department of Health Emergency Medical Services, and a local electric co-op. His daytime job is with the National Radio Astronomy Observatory. 

Jim Buzzard is the host of Evening Drive (also known as Traffic Jam).  Jim is a Pocahontas County native and a retiree of Coors in Harrisonburg, Virginia.  Jim lives in Pocahontas County with his wife, Diane, and their daughter Colleen. In his "spare time" Jim manages the family farm.

Bonnie Ralston is a former station coordinator for WCHG and currently serves as the news director for AMR in Bath County.  After moving from Richmond, Virginia, where she was active in radio, Bonnie settled in Augusta County and trained at WVLS before working at WCHG. As an accomplished DJ, Bonnie fills in whenever necessary for other on-air personalities.

Keith Carson moved to Highland County from the Norfolk, Virginia, area. He has collected musical recordings for four decades and is especially interested in blues, folk, and rock music. Keith hosts Midnight Ride, with blues, roots, and rock music, on Saturday evenings from 9 p.m. to midnight. A musician himself, Keith also plays bass guitar, having played in two blues/rock bands for several years in Norfolk. Keith also reports on Highland County news for AMR. Keith and his wife Polly live near Blue Grass, Virginia in an off-grid, solar and wind powered house.

Heather Niday is our News Director. She started with Allegheny Mountain Radio as a volunteer deejay. She then joined the AMR staff in February of 2007. Heather grew up in the Richmond, Virginia, area and now lives in Arbovale, West Virginia with her husband Chuck.  Heather is a wonderful flute player, and she enjoys playing with the Shinnston Community Band.  You can hear Heather on the radio during news broadcasts and also on Wednesday nights from 10 p.m. until midnight as she and Chuck co-host two hours of jazz on Something Different.

Gibbs Kinderman is the Director of Special Projects for Allegheny Mountain Radio. He oversees the production of programs for national distribution, handles sales of AMR's local books and CDs, and supervises the regional VISTA program for  the Pocahontas Communications Cooperative Corporation.  Gibbs moved to West Virginia in 1966 and has lived in Pocahontas County since 1978.  He was instrumental in founding AMR.  Gibbs enjoys reading, politics, and is known as the great communicator.
 
Caroline Sharp is the host of the Morning Drive and is responsible for production.  From 6 a.m to 10 a.m.. each weekday morning, she plays a great eclectic mix of oldies, country and bluegrass to help you ease into your day. She'll also bring you local, state, and national news, Community Calendar and weather information, and just keep you company as you head to work.  Caroline is a West Virginia native, and loves the outdoors.  This girl knows music!

Sue Fertig is one of the newest members of the Allegheny Mountain Radio staff, though she worked with us before in 2007. Prior to her return, Sue worked at Pocahontas Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician. As our Business Manager, Sue keeps the books for the Allegheny Mountain Radio stations 
and Pocahontas Communications Cooperative. If you tune in, you might also hear her lending her voice to PSAs and promo spots on the air or hear her sing during fundraiser.  She enjoys reading, singing, and spending time with her family. Sue lives with her husband Mark and daughter Jennifer near
Huntersville. Her son Jeff attends Mountain State University in Beckley.

Erin R. Will is the Station Coordinator at WVLS.  She is a Highland County native and graduated from Highland High School in 2004.  Erin received a Bachelor's Degree in Communications Studies from Bridgewater College in 2008.  Before joining AMR, Erin worked as an AmeriCorp VISTA volunteer for two years at local non-profit organizations in Highland County.  Her duties at WVLS include working with volunteers and the public to build support for the station and hosting her own radio show.  You can listen to Erin's show, Will's Way, on Tuesday night from 6 to 8 pm on WVLS and Radio Durbin.  Erin enjoys reading, shopping, and spending time with friends, family, and her husband, Jamie, and their four critters.

Ryan Henderson is an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer working for Allegheny Mountain Radio.  He is a recent graduate of Virginia Tech and works with students in the AMR listening area and others who are interested in radio.  Ryan is an avid sports fan and reports regularly on local sports.  In high school, Ryan interned at 1070 in Charlottesville, VA.  he is happy to be at Allegheny Mountain Radio and to be spending this year in West Virginia.

Dave Smithson is the Station Coordinator for WVMR.  He brings a wealth of experience to AMR, having served in the military for 20 years as a linguist and intelligence specialist.  Some of his more interesting military "adventures" were to work on the first operational test of the GPS system and learn several languages (Vietnamese and Czech).  He is from the Richwood, WV area, but has spent many years hunting and fishing in Pocahontas County.  Dave retired from the Army in 1994 and worked in retail sales and as a ski technician for 10 years.  He currently lives in Pocahontas County with his wife, Nancy, and their daughter, Elizabeth.  Dave has two older children, Jeff and Jennifer, and three grandchildren - Cole, Connor, and Abby.

Geoff Hamill
is a former Army Ranger who heard the pen is mightier than the sword and became a newspaper reporter in 2007. He switched over to radio in 2011 and became a member of the AMR news team, covering Pocahontas, Highland and Bath counties. Geoff grew up in the Pittsburgh area and lived in many places during his military career. When he's not reporting, he can be found fixing up his cabin in Frost or hiking in the Cranberry Wilderness.
