Highland Board of Supervisors Meeting Agenda

The Highland Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday, November 10th, at 7:30 pm, in the modular conference center on Spruce Street. The meeting was postponed a week, due to the regularly scheduled meeting falling on Election Day last Tuesday.

After calling the meeting to order, the supervisors will hear reports from Sheriff Tim Duff and Director of Social Services Sarah Rexrode on their offices activities during the month of October.

The Board will hear public commentary on action items before review and discussion. These items include:

Item 1. ​​Consider adoption of a resolution of support for continuance of the ability for localities to “opt out” of the Stormwater Management Program


Item 2. Consideration of adoption of a resolution in support of Recognition of EMS Personnel Licensure Interstate Compact – REPLICA for short


Item 3.​ Discuss appointment of an additional member to the Highland

​County Recreation Commission for a term expiring December 31,

​2017 (Recreation Commission recommends Karen Sweeney)


The Supervisors will then discuss old business and new business, and hear the County Administrator’s report and recommendations they will also consider the consent agenda, including payment of bills and adoption of a resolution to set the appropriations for the general fund for November.

Following a period for Board commentary, the Board will hear public comments. After adjournment, the Board will have closed meetings as needed.

The supervisors will hold their monthly work session on Wednesday, November 18th at 7:30.

Scott Smith is the General Manager for Allegheny Mountain Radio and Station Coordinator and News Reporter for WVLS. Scott’s family has deep roots in Highland County. While he did not grow up here, he spent as much time as possible on the family farm, and eventually moved to Highland to continue the tradition, which he still pursues with his cousin. Unfortunately, farming doesn’t pay all the bills, so he has previously taken other jobs to support his farming hobby, including pressman/writer for The Recorder, and Ag Projects Coordinator for The Highland Center.
