Pocahontas BOE Meeting Agenda — May 26th

The May 26th Pocahontas County Board of Education meeting will start at  6 pm at the BOE Office in Buckeye, but, will be closed to the public because of the virus danger.  There will be an audio link on the BOE’s website, and an audio link via Zoom Meeting. The address for the BOE Website is:

The agenda for this meeting includes normal opening procedures, followed by the Superintendent’s Report and special recognitions.

This will be followed by the approval of vender payments; routine financial reports; grants; payroll; budget adjustments; and extra duty pay. They will also authorize the payment of bills by the Central Office prior to Board approval from May 27th through July, 6,2020.

In the miscellaneous portion of the meeting, the board will consider the following:

  • Approval of the Pocahontas County Board of Education Procedures Manual
  • Approval of a NEOLA Adoption Resolution for the comprehensive document entitled “Bylaws and Policies of the Pocahontas County Board of Education.”
  • Approval of professional and service personnel actions.

Prior to adjourning, the board members will conduct a Matters of the Board discussion.

Tim is the WVMR News Reporter. Tim is a native of Maryland who started coming to Pocahontas County in the 1970’s as a caver. He bought land on Droop Mountain off Jacox Road in 1976 and built a small house there in the early 80’s. While still working in Maryland, Tim spent much time at his place which is located on the Friars Hole Cave Preserve. Retiring in 2011 as a Lieutenant with the Anne Arundel County Police Department in Maryland, Tim finally took the plunge and moved from Maryland to his real home on Droop Mountain. He began working as the Pocahontas County Reporter for Allegheny Mountain Radio in January of 2015.
