Pocahontas County Board of Education Meeting Agenda, Monday, 12-17-18
On Monday, December 175h at 4:00 p.m., the Pocahontas County Board of Education will hold a work session with the school principals at the Board of Education Office in Buckeye followed by its regular meeting with the following agenda.
The regular meeting will begin with approval of the minutes from the November 26th Board of Education meeting. After approving of the agenda for this meeting, the Board will hear comments from the public called “Delegations.”
Next the Board will receive Mr. Beam’s Superintendent’s Report and any Special Recognitions he wishes to offer followed by an informational report from Taylor Tegtmeyer, the Student Representative to the Board of Education and a report from Ron Hall & Andy Cocina
The Board will then examine and consider approval of the following financial matters:
Payment of vender claims; local government purchasing card charges; grant awards; the variance explanation required by the WV Department of Education for October; budget adjustments; extra duty pay for November; the November 8th employee payroll; and the Bank Reconciliation for the month of October.
They will also consider approval of a resolution, retroactive to December 3rd, between the Board and the WV Department of Transportation for a.$15,250 Grant to purchase and install two school zone flashing light warning systems along US 219 near the Hillsboro Elementary School.
The Board will then consider the following from the Miscellaneous portion of the agenda:
Approval of Community and Parent Volunteers for the schools.
Approval of Kenneth Beezley and Joshua Hardy as 4th and 5th grade basketball coaches at Hillsboro elementary School.
Approval the Green Bank Elementary-Middle School Team Radioactive Lego Robotics team to travel to Detroit, Michigan for a national competition from April 21st to April 28th, 2019. This will be paid for by County Contributions and fund raising.
Approval of the professional and service personnel agenda found at the end of this story.
The Board will hold a discussion on, and consider action on a request for proposal for new lighting as outlined in a handout provided by Andy Cocina.
They will then hold a “matters of the Board” session where each Board Member can speak to the Board and the public about any topic followed by adjournment of the meeting.

EMPLOYMENT: ROSS D. BOGGS as Substitute Teacher effective December 19, 2018 for the remainder of the 2018 – 2019 school year, as needed, at state basic pay.
CONSENT TO CHANGE: GARY BEVERAGE as Technology Systems Specialist from a contract term of 299 days to a contract term of 210 days effective for the 2018 -2019 school year.
