Pocahontas County Board of Education Meeting Agenda, Monday, 2-25-19
On Monday, February 25th at 5:30 p.m., the Pocahontas County Board of Education will hold a school calendar public hearing, followed immediately by its regular meeting at the Board of Education Conference Room in Buckeye with the following agenda.
The meeting will begin with approval of the minutes from the February 11th Board of Education meeting. After approving of the agenda for its current meeting, the Board will hear comments from the public – called “Delegations.”
Next the Board will receive Mr. Beam’s Superintendent’s Report and any Special Recognitions he wishes to offer followed by an informational report from Jarod Liptrap, the Student Representative to the Board of Education.
They will then receive a report from Jarod Liptrap, the Student Representative to the Board followed by a discussion with delegate employees from four schools about the possible move of the 5th grade from Marlinton Elementary School to Marlinton Middle School.
The Board will then examine and consider approval of the following financial matters:
Payment of vender claims; Budget adjustments; Pocahontas County Schools Summary Schedule of Revenues and Expenditures on a Cash Basis for the month ended January 2019; the February 5th employee payroll; and Grant awards
The Board will then consider the following from the Miscellaneous portion of the agenda:
Approval of a 30-day comment period on revised Policy JBCCA.
Approval of a Resolution for ESCO. Energy audit will begin when the Board of Education directs Wendel Energy Services. There will be no expense to the Board of Education until the audit is used to obtain SBA funds for needs projects or as energy projects. Paid for by local funds.
Approval of the Pocahontas County Schools Community and Volunteers, for the 2018- 2019 school year.

Approval of Thomas Moats as Volunteer Baseball Coach at PCHS for the 2018 -2019 season.
Approval of Lauren Goodwin as a Volunteer Track Coach (boys and girls) at Pocahontas County High School for the 2018-2019 season.
Approval of Justin Kerr as a Volunteer Softball Coach at Pocahontas County High School for the 2018-2019 season.
Approval of Derek Taylor, Chasity Taylor, Melissa Nelson and Scott Garber as Volunteer Basketball Coaches for 4th and 5th grade at Green Bank Elementary Middle School for the 2018-2019 season.
Approval to create and post a position of Social Worker for the 2019-2020 school year. Paid for by federal grant funds. See attached description.

They will then end the meeting with a “matters of the Board” session where each Board Member can speak to the Board and to the public.

Morning Run: Beginning at Pocahontas County High School and traveling to Seebert for the first pick up, coming back to the Seebert Lane Road going onto Rose Road and Puffenbarger Road and then coming back out Seebert Lane to Hillsboro Elementary School and from Hillsboro Elementary School traveling Route 219 north to Old Buckeye Road, back to 219 north, to Route 39 to Marlinton Elementary School transferring students then traveling back to
Route 39 to Route 28 and ending at Pocahontas County High School
Evening Run: Reverse of morning run.
SNOW ROUTE: The bus will only travel Route 219 and will meet students at the intersection of the above mentioned roads/lanes or at Hillsboro Elementary School. May pick up students that other buses cannot.
