Pocahontas County Commission Meeting Agenda for Tuesday 12-3-19

The Pocahontas County Commission will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, December 3rd starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Commission Office in the Courthouse in Marlinton.

After normal opening procedures there will be an opportunity for public input at 8:35 a.m.

At 8:45 a.m., the commissioners will hear from George Murphy who will deliver an update on the Snowshoe Resort Community District.

At 9:15 a.m., West Virginia State Senators Bill Hamilton and John Pitsenbarger will address the commissioners.

At 10:00 a.m. Cara Rose, the Executive Director of the Pocahontas County Convention and Visitors Bureau will come before the commissioners and there will be a presentation of a plaque to the CVB. Rose will also brief the commissioners on the accreditation process.

Other items on the agenda which are not assigned a specific time include the following:

  1. Approval of final settlements and orders.
  2. Commission mail items and concerns.
  3. There will be a report from their Counsel, Bob Martin.

The Commissioners will end the meeting with approval of invoices.

Tim is the WVMR News Reporter. Tim is a native of Maryland who started coming to Pocahontas County in the 1970’s as a caver. He bought land on Droop Mountain off Jacox Road in 1976 and built a small house there in the early 80’s. While still working in Maryland, Tim spent much time at his place which is located on the Friars Hole Cave Preserve. Retiring in 2011 as a Lieutenant with the Anne Arundel County Police Department in Maryland, Tim finally took the plunge and moved from Maryland to his real home on Droop Mountain. He began working as the Pocahontas County Reporter for Allegheny Mountain Radio in January of 2015.
