Pocahontas County Commission Meeting Agenda for Tuesday September 4th, 2018

The Pocahontas County Commission will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, September 4th, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Commission Office in the Courthouse in Marlinton with the following short agenda:

After normal opening procedures there will be an opportunity for public input at 8:35 a.m.

At 8:45 a.m. the Commissioners will receive an annual update on the activities of the Pocahontas County Convention and Visitors Bureau from Cara Rose.

At 9:00 a.m.  the Commissioners will discuss and consider approval of the hiring of Holly Beaudoin as a Part-Time 911 Dispatcher.

Other items on the agenda which are not assigned a specific time include the following:

  1. Routine items such as approval of final settlements and orders.
  2. Approval of improper charges if any
  3. There will be a discussion of Commission mail items and concerns
  4. In an item carried over from the last Commission Meeting where they sought additional information before acting, the Commissioners will discuss and consider approving identification cards for County Employees.
  5. They will receive a report from the Commission’s Counsel. Bob Martin.
  6. The Commissioners will end the meeting with approval of invoices.

Tim is the WVMR News Reporter. Tim is a native of Maryland who started coming to Pocahontas County in the 1970’s as a caver. He bought land on Droop Mountain off Jacox Road in 1976 and built a small house there in the early 80’s. While still working in Maryland, Tim spent much time at his place which is located on the Friars Hole Cave Preserve. Retiring in 2011 as a Lieutenant with the Anne Arundel County Police Department in Maryland, Tim finally took the plunge and moved from Maryland to his real home on Droop Mountain. He began working as the Pocahontas County Reporter for Allegheny Mountain Radio in January of 2015.
