2024 Fundraiser for Highland Center offers 5-to-1 Match

The 2024 Taste of Highland fundraiser will take place on Saturday, August 17th in the Highland Center pavilion.

This fun event, now in its 14th year,  celebrates the tastes and products of Highland. This year will feature a delicious meal catered by the Warm Springs Inn made with local produce, a silent auction full of wonderful Highland products and experiences, and music provided by Bottoms Up Band.

Here’s Highland Center Executive Director Elizabeth Lohr-Myers to tell us more about the fundraising aspect of this event:

“The Charles Pinckney Jones Trust has committed to a five-to-one matching grant at the Taste of Highland. So any funds we receive on August 17th will be multiplied by five, up to $25,000. So we’re really encouraging people to come out and give during this event.”

The Highland Center, a 501C3 nonprofit organization, serves as a public venue for countless community events, operates an employment program for area youth, and leads important regional initiatives to advance tourism, agriculture, and the arts.

It operates programs around four main areas: Business Incubation, Youth Development, Community & Economic Development, and Local Food & Agriculture. In recent years, the Center’s reach has expanded beyond Highland County to benefit the entire Allegheny Highlands region, including Bath County, Virginia, and Pocahontas and Pendleton Counties in West Virginia.

A limited number of seats are available and are on sale now at thehighlandcenter.org/tasteofhighland or available in person by visiting The Highland Center. Cost is $75 for a single ticket or $425 for a table of six for the August 17 event. Please note that tickets must be purchased in advance.
