Highland Schools Announce Home Learning Plan
Highland High School principal Tim Good announced an academic plan has been developed to serve as a guide for the remaining two months of this school year. Each teacher has created an “extended closure syllabus” that outlines their expectations for the remainder of the year. The “extended closure syllabi” were mailed home on Tuesday April 7. These items are also posted on the school website and HCPS Facebook page. Students will continue to be presented with “learning modules” on a weekly basis to cover the remaining content. If students do not have online access at home, please contact your teacher or Mr. Good and paper packets will be available for pickup or sent through the US postal service. After successful completion of the learning modules, students will earn credit and this will allow students to continue to make progress towards on-time graduation. Current seniors will earn a diploma based on their current grades and coursework and the extended closure will not affect their diploma status. Mr. Good thanked parents, students and staff for their patience and understanding during this unique educational journey. If you have any questions, please contact your student’s teachers or Mr. Good at tgood@highland.k12.va.us or 540-468-6320.
