Special Markets to Finish Up Highland Farmers Market Season

Hi there, this is Mary Parham, Manager, at the Highland Farmers Market in Monterey, Virginia.  Thank you so much to the community and Highland County for our 2021 market season.  The market has had a re-emergence this year that has been very well received and we are excited to grow and enliven it next year.

While the season is coming to a close, we have two final festive markets planned this year.  On Friday, October 1 from 3:30 to 6pm, we’ll be meeting in The Highland Center Market Pavilion as usual.  We’ll have a great array of farmers and makers and this year we have everything from pumpkins to potatoes to salad fix to microgreens and more.  We will welcome our favorite local band, Mountain Air, back to the market for some good vibrations and joyous atmosphere.  In addition, we’ll also, thanks to the Highland Arts Council, be welcoming a special guest artist and teacher, Theresa Brown, who’ll be offering an eco-printing demonstration during market.

On Friday October 8, from 3 to 7pm, we’ll have an extended market.  We’ll be merging with Hands and Harvest Festival on the Courthouse lawn in Monterey, Virginia.  So, you can come do your market shopping, you can meet some new vendors at the festival and just join in that celebration.   And again, that’s October 8 from 3 to 7pm at the Courthouse in Monterey.

Thank you so much to all of you again for supporting the market this season and I look forward to seeing you at these next two markets and in the spring at the market.  If you’d like more information about the farmers market or upcoming Hands and Harvest Festival you can visit our Facebook page at Highland Farmers Market or you can visit The Highland Center Facebook page for all upcoming events.
