Blue Grass Area Christmas Lighting Contest Winners Announced

Blue Grass, VA – The 2010 Blue Grass Area Christmas Lighting Contest is now complete. Winners for residential are: 1st place Chris and Tammy Swecker, 2nd place Carl and Judy Hull, 3rd place Debbie Colaw, 4th place Clay and Patsy Hamilton, 5th place June and Virginia Rexrode.

Lights were judged from December 13th through December 18th. Residents and business owners were asked to leave their lights on from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm during the week of judging. The areas that were judged were from Route 640 to Hevener’s Store; Route 637, Route 220 N. to W.VA line, Route 220 South to top of Marshall Hill.

Winners for commercial are: 1st place Blue Grass Valley Bank, and 2nd place Ginseng Mountain Store. Cash prizes were awarded to winners.

Heather is our Program Director and Traffic Manager. She started with Allegheny Mountain Radio as a volunteer deejay. She then joined the AMR staff in February of 2007. Heather grew up in the Richmond, Virginia, area and now lives in Arbovale, West Virginia with her husband Chuck. Heather is a wonderful flute player, and choir director for Arbovale UMC. You can hear Heather along with Chuck on Tuesday nights from 6 to 8pm as they host two hours of jazz on Something Different.
