Hearing the Story: John Wesley ME Church, In Their Own Words
by Danny Cardwell
On Juneteenth, Bath County marked the beginning of a new chapter for the historic John Wesley ME Church — the future home of the Museum of West Warm Springs and Meeting House. We were there with microphones running, and now you can hear the full story in two parts.
Part One takes you inside the ceremony itself — the prayer, the history, and the plans for restoration, featuring the actual voices of those who spoke that day: Oscar Beale, Perlista Henry, Terry Ammons, Roy Burns, and Beth Bland.
Part Two turns to the people for whom this building has always meant something — Joan Williams, Rhonda Beale, Perlista Henry, and Terry Ammons, sharing in their own words what this church, and this community, means to them.
Both parts were recorded live on-site and have aired on Allegheny Mountain Radio. You can listen to the full reports below: Part One
