Highland Women’s Retreat To Be Held In August – Pt.1
A weekend women’s retreat will be held in Highland County in August, and we spoke to the event organizer to learn more.
“Blessings to everyone. My name is Kalunyahawi Traveler, and a little bit about me. My ancestors are Scottish Irish, American Indian, and I am a traditional Native guide to spirit, which means I guide people to their souls by way of spirit, where all the answers that you ever needed for a successful Earth journey live and move within you.”
“I always say that I am no teacher. I don’t teach anybody anything. I am a guide, a guide, not the guide, and I just guide people to remember through the wisdom that I’ve obtained from my 53 years young of walking on Mother Earth, and I do that in many different ways.”
“I’m a seer, which is an ancient term for one who sees and speaks to spirit. I do many, many different walks and healing modalities, but I am no master, I know nothing – but I am a servant, I know something.” “
Me, I believe that if you’re breathing air, you have spiritual gifts. Whether a person calls themselves a seer, a prophet, a prophetess, whatever the terminology is, we all come in with gifts. I’m a healer, but I don’t heal anyone, I heal myself, and then I guide others to remember how to heal themselves, through my experience, strength, and hope, not advice – I think advice can kill people – it’s what you think.”
“An initiation for what I do is trauma, and trauma can look very different for many different people. It can be something really graphic or really small. It’s just how it affects the person, and trauma is a natural response to a unnatural event. So we say that trauma is a human experience to awakening.”
“The retreat is going to be in Monterey, Virginia, and one of my dear sisters, Annette, is going to be the host and the sponsor for this retreat at Monterey Campground. It’s called Return to Mother Earth: Coming Home 2 Self. It’s going to be a weekend women’s spiritual retreat. This retreat is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, August 28th through the 30th, and it is for all ages, 18 and plus, all the way up to elders. It’s for women who have been to retreats, who are advanced in this type of spiritual work. It’s for women who have never been to anything like this in their lives, they have no idea what it’s like, but they just feel a calling within their heart and their spirit to come.”
There is a website link to learn more.
So it’s my first name, https://kalunyahawi.my.canva.site/coming-home-2-self-retreat. At the end of the last page has a button, and if you click on that, it says “Register Now”. That’ll take you into asking your name, your email. It’ll bring you all into the prompts – what do you choose? – do you choose to bring your own tent; do you choose the bunkhouse?; do you have any food allergies?”
“But if you do live in the area and you feel more comfortable reaching out to my host Annette Naber, her phone number is 540-468-3020.”
“We don’t use the word cost, we like self investment, so we’re investing in ourselves. We are remembering as humans, but especially as women, to put ourselves on that to-do list, to put ourselves on that list of things to do, because if we think about taking an airplane, when they do the safety practices, who do they tell us to put the oxygen mask on first? Not even our children. We have to put it on ourselves first.”
“So this is really a self investment, and that’s $658.00, and that covers the lodging, all of the food, all of the ceremonies and events, and everything that’s going to happen. I also just wanted to share that we are so excited to work with another beautiful woman in this area, Monterey, who will be providing all of the nutritionist foods that we’re going to be able to nourish ourselves with, Claire’s Cakes here in Monterey, and we’re excited to work with her.”
“So the option to pay that we have, we always ask for a $200.00 deposit, and that is just a monetary commitment for yourself. And that $200.00 comes off of the $658.00, which leaves a balance of $458.00. That balance is due August 14th, which is two weeks before the retreat. Whenever you sign up to register, you’ll see all the options to pay. And if you don’t know what to do, you can just reach out to me through the phone number or the email, and I can direct you from there.”
