Bath Accident Injures Two

Hot Springs, VA – An accident in downtown Hot Springs on Monday resulted in injuries to two Hot Springs women. According to Virginia State Trooper Duane Hylton the accident occurred at about 9:37 on Monday morning. A 2001 Chevy Impala driven by Charlotte May was traveling south on Route 220 when it struck and broke off a lamp post at Sam Snead’s Tavern.

May’s car and the lamp post crossed the Route 615 intersection and then struck a 2010 Honda CRV driven by Iona Conner. Conner’s car and the lamp post were then pushed into the building housing Laura’s Boutique. Both May and Conner were injured and transported to Bath Community Hospital.

Both vehicles were totaled. The accident is still under investigation and possible charges are pending. Laura’s Boutique was damaged, but the shop is open for business.
