Bath deputy facing gun charges

Hot Springs, Va. –

A Bath County Deputy has been charged with two misdemeanors. Jeremy Cutlip of Mountain Grove has been charged with reckless handling of a firearm and brandishing a firearm. The case is being investigated by the Virginia State Police. Cutlip has been with the Bath County Sheriff’s Department for about 15 years.

Bath County Sheriff Robert Plecker said that both he and Cutlip felt it was best to have the case investigated by the State Police. Cutlip is currently on administrative leave, using his accrued leave time. His court date is October 10.
