Bath, Highland, Virginia election results

Richmond, Va. – Here are the unofficial results of the general election in Highland and Bath Counties, and statewide results for Virginia.

In Highland County:

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney received 924 votes; President Barack Obama received 459 votes.

Republican U.S. Senate candidate George Allen received 957 votes; Democratic candidate Tim Kaine received 477 votes.

Republican U.S. House candidate Bob Goodlatte received 1,057 votes; Democratic candidate Andy Schmookler received 351 votes.

On the state constitutional amendment to restrict eminent domain, 1,097 Highland County voters voted yes; 234 voted no.

On the state constitutional amendment to allow the Legislature to delay a veto session by one week, 1,053 voted yes; 223 voted no.

In Bath County:

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney received 924 votes; President Barack Obama received 893 votes.

Republican U.S. Senate candidate George Allen received 1,374 votes; Democratic candidate Tim Kaine received 889 votes.

Republican U.S. House candidate Bob Goodlatte received 1,574 votes; Democratic candidate Andy Schmookler received 588 votes.

On the state constitutional amendment to restrict eminent domain, 1,719 Bath County voters voted yes; 415 voted no.

On the state constitutional amendment to allow the Legislature to delay a veto session by one week, 1,672 voted yes; 437 voted no.

William Manion was elected to the School Board.

Here are the unofficial results statewide for Virginia:

Democrat Tim Kaine was elected to the U.S. senate with 52-percent of the vote.

Robert Goodlatte was elected to the U.S. House with 66-percent of the vote.

The state constitutional amendment to restrict eminent domain passed with 75-percent of the vote.

The state constitutional amendment to allow the Legislature to delay a veto session by one week passed with 82-percent of the vote.

In the presidential election, President Barack Obama won Virginia’s 13 electoral votes with 51-percent of the vote.

President Obama was re-elected.
