Bath School Board makes several appointments

Hot Springs, Va. –

The Bath School Board made a number of appointments at its August meeting last Tuesday night. The following were appointed as substitute teachers: Betty Alexander, Judy Allen, Kim Brown, Katrina Bush, Janet Cardwell, Jonathan Cook, Laura Cooper, Donna Hepler, Teresa Kimmel, Bonnie Kling and June Lacks. Also appointed as substitute teachers: Elfrieda McDaniel, Christina Ortiz, Carol Phillips, Lisa Rexrode, Joyce Ryder, Melissa Ryder, Melanie Ryder, Jean Seymour, Steve Shaver, Linda Weiss and Chloa Sue Wooding.

The following were approved as substitute bus and vehicle drivers: Jimmie Adkins, Richard Criser, Heidi Hewitt, Justin Rider, Steven Sweitzer, Kevin Williams and William Dooley.

The following were appointed by the Bath School Board as vehicle drivers: Becky Hise, Ronnie Hodge, Susan Keith, Charolette Lotts, Patty Reynolds, Mary Rogers and Melanie Ryder.

Faye Hise was appointed as a substitute custodian, and April Miller was approved as the JV volleyball coach, LaWanda Riley as varsity and JV assistant volleyball volunteer, Steve Shaver as football assistant coach, Lisa Hamilton as cross country coach and as an assistant for varsity boys basketball. Larry Grubbs was approved as head varsity softball coach and Christie Farmer was approved as flag corps coach.

The board acknowledged the following resignations: elementary school nurse Mary Beth Nair, Valley Elementary computer lab manager Katrina Caul and assistant boys basketball coach Zach Woodzell.

The board acknowledged the following personnel appointments: Brett Moyers as a part time food service worker at the high school, Calin Foarce as a math teacher at the high school, Ed Ozols as a high school special ed teacher, Sarah Burns as high school office aide and Charity Reish as a Valley Elementary teacher.

The Board also approved long term suspension with conditions for readmission for two students. And the board approved readmission of another student.

Heather is our Program Director and Traffic Manager. She started with Allegheny Mountain Radio as a volunteer deejay. She then joined the AMR staff in February of 2007. Heather grew up in the Richmond, Virginia, area and now lives in Arbovale, West Virginia with her husband Chuck. Heather is a wonderful flute player, and choir director for Arbovale UMC. You can hear Heather along with Chuck on Tuesday nights from 6 to 8pm as they host two hours of jazz on Something Different.
