Bath Senior Calendar For April 2010

Hot Springs, VA – Bath County has an active group of senior citizens who attend the senior center each week. Jeanne Apgar is the director of the Bath Senior Center.

On April 7, Wednesday, the transportation van will be taking a trip to the YMCA in Clifton Forge to bingo, out to lunch and shopping. You do not need to be a member to go on this trip. You must be over the age of 60.

On Monday the 12th, is our blood pressure screening. On the 14th we’re going to have a shopping trip to Covington. On the 17th, which is a Saturday, we’ll be having a yard sale here at the center. If you have things you want to donate to the senior center for our yard sale, please give us a call.

On the 21st we will have another transportation grant YMCA bingo trip and shopping and out to lunch. On the 22nd, we’re going to celebrate earth day with tree planting with someone from the forestry. On the 26th, we have a big surprise, [a]clown visit, for national humor month. Funny day, we’re going to have an Abbott and Costello video, it should be a lot of fun.

On Thursdays the Bacova Wellness Center sends fitness trainers to us between 10 and 11. We also have Wii workouts. The Bath Senior Center is located in Warm Springs. It’s open Monday Wednesday and Thursday from 9 to 1. We have a hot lunch served at 11:30 daily. Our phone number is 839- 5604. (text only)

Heather is our Program Director and Traffic Manager. She started with Allegheny Mountain Radio as a volunteer deejay. She then joined the AMR staff in February of 2007. Heather grew up in the Richmond, Virginia, area and now lives in Arbovale, West Virginia with her husband Chuck. Heather is a wonderful flute player, and choir director for Arbovale UMC. You can hear Heather along with Chuck on Tuesday nights from 6 to 8pm as they host two hours of jazz on Something Different.
