Bath Volleyball and Footballs Teams Unsuccessful In Playoff Bids

Warm Springs, VA – On Friday, both the Bath County volleyball and football team’s seasons came to an abrupt end with losses in the state playoffs.

The Bath County Charger Volleyball team fell to the Nelson County Governors in semifinals of the state tournament in four sets. The Governors won a close first set with a score of 27-25 and dominated the second set 25-12. The Chargers were able to take the third set 25-14 but lost the important fourth set by a score of 25-12 ending their season with a record of 19 and 5.

The Bath County Chargers hosted the Galax Maroon Tide in the semifinals of the Region C Division Playoffs. The Chargers put the first points of the game on the board with an 11 yard TD run by Xavier Smothers. Unfortunately for the Chargers, that TD run would be the only points Bath County would score all night. The Maroon Tide would go on to score 21 unanswered points and win by a final of 21-7. The Bath County Chargers football team ends the season with a 6-5 record.

The Player of the game is Xavier Smothers and the Unsung Hero is Boogie Woodzell
