BCAA’s New Chapter: Sage Tanguay and The Bear

 

The Bath County Arts Association has entered a new chapter with the opening of The Bear, its permanent arts space in downtown Hot Springs, led by Executive Director Sage Tanguay. In this conversation, Sage reflects on coming full circle—from receiving BCAA grants as a student, to teaching dance classes, to helping fund drama club and radio productions through Allegheny Mountain Radio. She also shares her vision for the future, seeing The Bear as a central hub for activity in Hot Springs—an open, multipurpose space where the community can gather, create, and connect through the arts. Danny has tutored, lectured, and mentored at risk youth in churches, group homes, and inside the Virginia Department Corrections.
