State Delegate and State Senate Redistricting in Pocahontas County Explained

The northern end of the county will be in the 66th House of Delegate District along with portions of Randolph County, while the southern half of the county will share the 46th District with the Eastern part of Greenbrier County. In the State Senate redistricting, Pocahontas County will share the same State Senate District with Braxton, Upshur, Barbour, Randolph, and Pendleton counties.

The Commissioners also discussed what they might fund with the 1.5 million dollars the American Rescue Plan (ARP) has provided to the county. Laura Young from the Family Resource Network (FRN) asked the commission for $200,000 to reimburse them for what they lost due to COVID. The Commissioners seemed to resist this.
