Chargers shock Broncos, 20-12

Franklin, Virginia – The Bath County Chargers football team traveled 246 miles to challenge the Franklin Broncos on their home field in a first-round playoff game Friday night. The Chargers couldn’t generate much offense until the fourth quarter, when they scored two touchdowns. Bath County took a 14-12 lead early in the final frame and Darien Hepler rushed for a 17-yard TD with 2:46 remaining to give the Chargers a 20-12 lead. The Bath defense stifled Franklin’s final drive and time expired with the score 20-12 Chargers.

The Chargers advance to the second-round and travel to Covington Friday night to face off against their Pioneer District rivals, the Covington Cougars.
