Former Pocahontas commissioner sues county, officials

Elkins, W.Va. –

Former Pocahontas County commissioner Norman Alderman has sued the commission; prosecutor Donna Price; sheriff David Jonese; school administrator Alice Irvine; magistrate Kathy Beverage and individual commissioners David Fleming, Martin Saffer and Jamie Walker.

Alderman filed the suit in federal district court in Elkins on July 26, claiming violation of his civil rights. The Sheriff’s Department arrested Alderman in the early morning hours of August 12 and charged with harrassment and stalking. Alderman was later charged with felony possession of confidential computer information. All charges against Alderman were dropped.

Monroe County prosecutor Justin St. Clair was appointed to complete a report on a case, which he expects to complete this month.
