Garth Newel Welcomes New Executive Director Richard Riley

Warm Springs, VA – Garth Newel Music Center in Hot Springs has a new Executive Director. Richard Riley began work on September 13 and is excited about all that Garth Newel has to offer including an intimate setting for musicians and audience and wonderful food.

“This 114 acres on the side of Warm Springs Mountain is just a treasure” says Riley.

Riley came to Garth Newel from Brattleboro Vermont, where he was the Managing Director at the Brattleboro Music Center. That organization supports many activities and programs similar to what Garth Newel does. But there is one difference.

“New for me is [being] involved in an organization that includes a culinary program” says Riley. “And that was one of the things that really excited me about coming here.”

In Vermont, Riley lived in a small town with a population of 900. He’s happy to be duplicating that small town rural life in Bath County. A Community Open House to welcome Riley and his wife Susan will be held Wednesday October 6th from 5 to 7pm.
