Highland County Pool Opens Sunday, June 12th

Monterey, Va – It’s hot enough to officially feel like summer again and that means it’s time for the Highland County Pool to open for the season. The pool will be opening this weekend on Sunday, June 12th. Pool hours for Sunday will be from 1 pm to 6 pm.

Normal pool hours are noon to 6pm Monday through Saturday. Additionally, the pool is open Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9pm for Family night. Family night is intended for parents who work during the daytime to come to the pool with their children & enjoy a swim together.

They also offer Adult Swim hours from 6-7 pm Monday through Friday. This is only for adults only over the age of 18. Along with Family Night & Adult swim, the pool will be offering water aerobics and swimming lessons later this summer. And, the pool will be available for pool parties as well.

Heather is our Program Director and Traffic Manager. She started with Allegheny Mountain Radio as a volunteer deejay. She then joined the AMR staff in February of 2007. Heather grew up in the Richmond, Virginia, area and now lives in Arbovale, West Virginia with her husband Chuck. Heather is a wonderful flute player, and choir director for Arbovale UMC. You can hear Heather along with Chuck on Tuesday nights from 6 to 8pm as they host two hours of jazz on Something Different.
