Highland County Recreation Commission Trick or Treat Trail
Things are getting spooky in Highland County!
The Highland County Recreation Commission’s Trick or Treat Trail is back on Sunday, October 27 with tons of candy, a costume contest, campfire stories and lots of fun. Attendees are encouraged to park in the Highland County Schools lot then take part in the trail. There will be plenty of candy in both directions, but make sure you walk the whole trail to experience it all.
The Highland County Public Library has partnered with the school for Literacy Month this year and added a Storywalk to the trail for families that want to get some bat-filled fun in while they partake in candy.
It takes about an hour to walk the trail, and candy will be available from 3 to 4 p.m.
The costume contest registration begins at 4 p.m. with the contest right after. If you’ve never seen a Highland County costume contest, you’re in for a treat. Kids and grownups go all out, with many having themed costumes or even creating their own.
Area businesses and families are encouraged to circle the trail with their candy and be set up by 3 p.m. to accept trick or treaters.
So, grab those costumes, work on that make-up, and head out for the fun on October 27. It’s going to be a boo-tiful celebration of friendship and community.
