Highland Medical Center Health Fair April 10th and 11th

The Highland Medical Center’s Annual Health fair is happening this week, and we spoke with Cappie Jackson, health coach and certified personal trainer at the Center to find out more.

“I am sending out a friendly reminder to the community that we are hosting our 2018 Health Fair on April 10th and 11th, from 7:00 am to 11:00 am – lots of fun things going on those two days.”

“Each segment of the Medical Center – Dental, Behavioral, Medical – we’re all offering something. Dental is going to be offering limited oral evaluations and panoramic x-rays, leading into possibly head and neck cancer screenings for those who qualify.

“The Behavioral Health department is going to be discussing current program offerings and talking about nutrition. We’ll have some displays in regards to re-thinking your drink, and the sugar content.

“Physical Therapy is going to be giving introductions to the Wellness Center.

“Medical Health will be offering lab work and basic health screenings- appointments will be necessary for those.

“There will be a mobile mammography van onsite on April 11th from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. If you are uninsured, this is a free service, so be sure to take advantage of that.

“I specifically will be offering healthy alternative breakfast items during the Health fair, so come by the kitchen on the upper level and try one of my tasty treats.

“For more information or further questions regarding the Health Fair this Tuesday and Wednesday, April 10th and 11th, please call the Medical center at 540-468-6400.
