Highland National Honor Society Food Drive
Allegheny Mountain Radio spoke with members of the Highland High School National Honor Society about a holiday food drive currently underway.
“I’m Grace Blanchard, and I’m a junior at the high school.”
“I’m Samantha Blagg, and I’m a senior.”
Ms.Blanchard gave details about the effort.
“It’s not our first year doing the Thanksgiving food drive. We do it in partnership with Highland Social Services, and it’s from November 1st to November 19th. We ask that you drop cans or non-perishable food items in the boxes around the county. All the donated items will be used to support families in Highland County throughout the holidays.”
Ms.Blagg provided locations where product donations could be made, as well information about the group and it’s goals.
“We have a box at Dollar General, Mountain Oasis, Stonewall, Country Convenience, Rexrode’s, The Highland Center, and both the high school and elementary school.
“We have seven members of our National Honor Society, and our main goal is to contribute to the community.”
The group is advised by faculty member Julia Blanchard.
