Local Author Ginny Neil to Present her Work “A Whale of a Tale”

“A Whale of a Tale” theater camp will be hosted by the churches of the McDowell Methodist Charge for students who have completed grade 1 or higher. The camp will take place from 9am-12:30pm from July 22-26 at Doe Hill Methodist Church.

I sat down with Ginny Neil, a local author who wrote the play – a new spin on the story of Jonah.

There are a large contingent of helpers to pull the play off. Mary Ann Rogers, who will be starting her senior year at Highland High School in the fall, is serving as director and Daniel Minnigh, a rising sophomore at Mary Baldwin University, is choreographing.

They are still looking for some help from adults or an older teenager.

A final performance will take place the evening of July 27. Those interested in participating should contact Ginny Neil at 540-396-6149 or virginianeil@yahoo.com.
