Local Events in Bath

With the end of the month approaching, I wanted to talk about a few exciting events happening soon at the end of this month and next month in our local area of Bath County. 

On June 29th at 7:30 pm, Garth Newel is having a concert called American Made: Scythian (sith-ee-in). According to Ukranian Nomads, scythian is “what happens when rock star charisma meets Celtic dervish fiddling.” 

Adult concert tickets are $25.00, Adult student concert tickets are $10.00, and for people 18 years old or younger, it’s free. 

If you’d like to eat before the show, they’re also having a picnic at 6pm. Tickets for both the picnic and concert are $45.00 for adults, $20.00 for ages 13 to 18, and $12.00 for ages 12 and under. 

If you can’t make this show, there’s another concert on July 6th at 5pm followed by an optional dinner and another on July 7th at 3pm called Sound Paintings.

The Omni Homestead is hosting a 4th of July celebration with a concert on the driving range and a fabulous fireworks display. 

The Bath County Agriculture Center is offering a children’s program at the Bath County Farmer’s Market. Power of Produce will introduce children to seasonal, locally grown produce and engage them in learning about, preparing, and tasting fruits and vegetables. July 13th is the Wings and Wheels is from 10am to 4pm. It features good food, family fun and activity for all ages. Activities will include an air show, car show, helicopter and plane rides, games and bouncy houses for kids. 

The Cool School Machine is brought to you by Bath County schools with activities geared towards elementary and middle school aged children. It’s a mobile learning lab with an emphasis on math, science, and technology activities with fun exercise and fitness equipment. It’ll be coming to a neighborhood near you until July 18th. In addition, the Summer Feeding program will be coordinating along with the crew so children can eat too! Parents may bring their children to the most convenient locations. The Bath County Arts Association is having their Annual art show July 20-28th located in Hot Springs, Va at Valley Elementary School. For July 20th to 27th, the hours are 1pm to 5pm, and for the 28th, 10am to 12pm. 

Bath County local Library, located in Warm Springs, will be having some awesome programs this upcoming month- their first Ukulele Club meeting is on Monday, June 24th at 1:30 to 2:30; all ukuleles will be provided and there’s no experience necessary. They will also meet on Monday, July 8th and Monday July 15th. 

The library is hosting a program led by Master Gardener, Faith Vosburgh where she will share photos and tips on how to grow native perennials in your home garden. It starts at 5:30 and ends at 6:30 on Thursday, July 16th. 

On Thursday, July 25th, Good Foot Dancing will perform percussive dance from Appalachian clogging to tap with live music. It starts at 10:30 and ends at 11:30.
