Marlinton Resident Charged With First Degree Murder In Death Of Brother

Marlinton, WV – An argument between two brothers at a Marlinton area home escalated, resulting in the death of one brother and the arrest of the other.

Pocahontas County Prosecuting Attorney Donna M. Price announced that John B. Boggs of Marlinton, age 60, was arrested without incident Tuesday, March 9th on a charge of first degree Mmrder. The incident is being investigated by the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s department, with assistance from the West Virginia State Police. Boggs is charged in the murder of his brother Danny L. Boggs. The incident began mid morning Tuesday. The two men, who resided together, got into an argument that culminated in the shooting death of Danny Boggs.

John Boggs was arraigned before Magistrate Judge Janet Vanover and is currently being held without bond in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
