Millboro Fire Department To Hold Ceremony

On Sunday, June 25th, the Millboro Volunteer Fire Department, in Millboro, VA, will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony and dedication for the new addition to the fire station. The community room is being dedicated in memory of longtime Chief Walter Junior Shinault. The upstairs of the addition includes a “burn-out room”, which can be used for families that have been displaced due to an emergency. This is the first ever burn-out room offered by a volunteer fire department.

Guests speakers at the event include Bath County Supervisor Richard Byrd, Ben Cline, from the 24th district of the Virginia House of Delegates, and Bob Goodlatte, US Congressman from the 6th District of Virginia.

A light lunch will follow the ceremony.

The total cost of the addition was $214,000, all made possible with donations from the community, with no government funds used to complete the project, which broke ground in October 2016.
