Monongahela Forest Will Host Virtual Meeting June 23rd

The Monongahela National Forest will host a virtual meeting on June 23rd from 6 to 7:30pm for an upcoming project in the Sitlington Creek-Greenbrier River watershed in Pocahontas and Greenbrier counties.

During the virtual meeting, Forest staff will present background information about current forest conditions and potential management activities to address concerns within the project area. Information received from the public during this meeting will be used to help develop the project proposal.

You may submit comments and other feedback about the project to comments-eastern-monongahela-gauley@usda.gov, or mail to Gauley Ranger District, 932 N. Fork Cherry Road, Richwood, WV 26261. Suggestions and comments will be most helpful if received by July 10, 2022.

The meeting will be conducted using Microsoft Teams, and you may want to join a little early if you are unfamiliar with the platform. Heather is our Program Director and Traffic Manager. She started with Allegheny Mountain Radio as a volunteer deejay. She then joined the AMR staff in February of 2007. Heather grew up in the Richmond, Virginia, area and now lives in Arbovale, West Virginia with her husband Chuck. Heather is a wonderful flute player, and choir director for Arbovale UMC. You can hear Heather along with Chuck on Tuesday nights from 6 to 8pm as they host two hours of jazz on Something Different.
