Ninth Annual Bath Triathlon Winners

Lake Moomaw, Va. – The ninth annual Bath County Triathlon is was held last Saturday June 23 at the Lake Moomaw marina. The triathlon, also known as Moomaw Madness, consists of a half mile swim, a twelve mile bike ride and a three mile run. Around three hundred athletes competed. Andrew Cochran of Morgantown, West Virginia was the overall men’s division winner again. He also won the men’s division last year. He finished this year with a time of one hour, six minutes and thirty eight seconds, beating his winning time last year by more than two minutes.

The overall women’s division winner was Edith Nault of Poquoson, Virginia with a time of one hour, nine minutes and fifty four seconds.

The Bath County Triathlon is part of the Virginia Triathlon Series.

Heather is our Program Director and Traffic Manager. She started with Allegheny Mountain Radio as a volunteer deejay. She then joined the AMR staff in February of 2007. Heather grew up in the Richmond, Virginia, area and now lives in Arbovale, West Virginia with her husband Chuck. Heather is a wonderful flute player, and choir director for Arbovale UMC.
