Power Outage in Pocahontas and Highland County on October 22nd

Frank, WV – Mon Power will have a scheduled power outage in northern Pocahontas County on Saturday, October 22nd from 8:30am to 1:30pm. They regret the inconvenience but the outage is necessary for maintenance on the Frank, WV substation. Customers in Durbin, Frank, Bartow, Arbovale, and Thornwood in Pocahontas County will be affected.

Additionally all Highland County customers of Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative will be affected by this outage. BARC Electric Cooperative customers in McDowell, Strait Creek, Possum Trot, Seldom Seen, and Doe Hill areas will also be affected. BARC customers along the Rt 220 corridor will not be affected.

BARC will attempt to backfeed from another source customers in the Headwaters and Palo Alto areas. Lights in those areas will go out and then return if BARC is successful in backfeeding power from another substation.

Again, the power outage affecting customers in northern Pocahontas County and Highland is Saturday, October 22nd from 8:30am to 1:30pm.

Heather grew up in the Richmond, Virginia, area and now lives in Arbovale, West Virginia with her husband Chuck. Heather is a wonderful flute player, and choir director for Arbovale UMC.
