Drive thru clinic to be held Saturday, October 30th

The items are available for free loan for Highland County events

The event will be held at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia.

The northern end of the county will be in the 66th House of Delegate District along with portions of Randolph County, while the southern half of the county will share the 46th District with the Eastern part of Greenbrier County. In the State Senate redistricting, Pocahontas County will share the same State Senate District with Braxton, Upshur, Barbour, Randolph, and Pendleton counties.

The Commissioners also discussed what they might fund with the 1.5 million dollars the American Rescue Plan (ARP) has provided to the county. Laura Young from the Family Resource Network (FRN) asked the commission for $200,000 to reimburse them for what they lost due to COVID. The Commissioners seemed to resist this.

The Pocahontas County Board of Education’s Local School Improvement Council Meeting at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the Green Bank Elementary-Middle School and the regular meeting set for 5 p.m. at that school have both been cancelled.
