Congressman Ben Cline hosted an hour-long telephone town hall meeting focusing on small business owners where we talked about the CARES Act and the Payment Protection Program. Carl Knoblock, who has been Virginia’s director of the United States Small Business Administration also spoke.
At the last Bath County Board of Supervisors meeting, it passed unanimously for the County Administrator, Ashton Harrison, to write a letter of intent to apply for a Community Development Block Grant with the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development to establish a small business emergency grant program. At the last board meeting, decisions were made about the Short-term Rental Ordinance and there were two seperate public hearings regarding the FY 2020-2021 school budget and also the tax levies.
Since this interview, Governor Justice announced at his April 20th press conference that on April 27th, he will be lifting the elective procedures ban for hospitals which meet conditions which he did not specify. Hopefully, PMH will meet those conditions, which could fix their out-patient revenue declines.
