Well, here we are, the WV schools remain closed on Monday and Tuesday as the teacher walk-out continues.
On Friday afternoon, which was the second day Pocahontas County Schools were closed, we talked with Denise Sharp, the President of the local American Federation of Teachers (or AFT.)

The Pocahontas County Schools have officially announced schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday. February 22nd and 23rd, due to the walkout by school employees. Whether or not the work stoppage is extended into the following week or weeks remains unresolved at this time
“Most importantly, it needs to be a citizens’ based effort” says Pocahontas School Superintendent Beam.
