Snowshoe Mountain Resort Delays Opening Due To Rainy Conditions

Snowshoe, WV – Snowshoe Mountain Resort has been hard at work getting ready for the opening of ski seaon. Unfortunately, Mother Nature has other ideas. Two and a half inches of rain in the last 36 hours have dashed the hopes for the traditional Thanksgiving Day opening for the resort.

But while the slopes won’t be open to skiers or borders, the resort will continue with the many activities traditionally planned for this holiday weekend. Thanksgiving and winter crafts will be offered at different times in the Big Top as well as holiday movies. Thanksgiving Dinner will be offered at the Junction restaurant beginning at 11am on Thursday.

Santa and Mrs. Claus are scheduled to arrive at the Big Top on Saturday afternoon at 5pm and a tree lighting ceremony will be held in the Village at 6pm. Retail shops will be open as well as Split Rock Pool.
For more information about activities this weekend, visit their website at www.snowshoemtn.com.
