#1 – Yawning as Breathwork

 

Basic Breathwork – Yawning

Inhale and exhale at your natural pace, pulling more breath in each time until you reach your full breath. Once you’ve warmed up with several full breaths, practice a false yawn. See how large you can grow your yawn – can your false yawn become a true one?

The yawn is a reset for your whole body: eye close and tear up, the throat and Eustachian tubes stretch and readjust, the breath is disrupted and then resettles. Though there is societal pressure to not yawn or yawn audibly, sometimes it’s just the thing you need! Let those yawns rip!
