#22 – Curry Feta Meatballs

#22 – Curry Feta Meatballs

Meatballs are an excellent and easy way to make ground meat a little more exciting, as is switching up the spices! These meatballs are inspired by Mediterranean and Middle Eastern  meats dishes, like shawarma, doner kebabs, and gyro meat. The feta cheese stays almost completely intact through the cooking process. It’s acidic, yogurty flavor pairs well with the strong curry and cumin flavors.

1 lbs ground beef

1 lbs ground pork

2 eggs

1 tablespoon black pepper

1.5 tablespoons curry powder

1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon cumin powder

2 teaspoons Creole Seasoning or Salt

¾ cup of crumbled feta cheese (6 oz.)

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground meat and eggs.
  2. Add in spices and feta cheese. Feel free to adjust seasonings to your preference.
  3. Form into meatballs and carefully place in a hot skillet. Every couple of minutes, flip the meatballs to brown on the next side.
  4. Once you have completely browned the outside of the meatballs, cover skillet with lid and lower to medium heat for 5 – 10 minutes, until the meatballs are cooked all the way through and are firm.
  5. Serve with vegetables and tzatziki sauce, perhaps as a pita, and Enjoy!
