Sweet Deal Days Are Back In Highland November 25 through December 2

This is Chris Swecker, Executive Director of the Highland County Chamber of Commerce.  I’m here to talk today about our final Sweet Deal Days of 2023.  It will run from Small Business Saturday, which is November 25, all the way through Saturday, December 2, which is Wintertide.

If you’re not familiar, Sweet Deal Days is a promotion that we have where organizations provide special deals, discounts and giveaways at designated times of the year.  All you have to do is show your 63rd Highland County Maple Festival keychain to get those deals.  Those keychains are black with white writing and they have “Virginia is for Maple Syrup Lovers” on one side and they are from the 2023 festival.  If you need a keychain, you can get one for $5 through the end of this year at our office at The Highland Center in Monterey or you can give us a call at 540-468-2550.

So, let’s move on to the deals.  Highland Roots Market, that’s our new grocery mart at the intersection of Route 220 and Route 250 in downtown Monterey, will provide 10% off items by showing your keychain Saturday, November 25, through December 2.  They’re open daily from 10am to 6pm.

Twice As Nice, also located in Monterey, will provide one free item to visitors with a keychain.  That will be Saturday, November 25, through Friday, December 1, from 10am to 4pm and on Saturday, December 2, they will be open from 10am to 7pm.

The Blue Grass Mercantile, in Blue Grass, on Saturday, December 2, from 9am to 7pm will offer half off their daily specials and that includes half off their steamed shrimp specials.  Limit is one per customer.

On Saturday, December 2, during Wintertide, from 10am to 5pm the Highland County Chamber of Commerce will have specials on their Maple Festival branded long sleeve t-shirts and hats.  Come see us at the Highland County Visitors Center at The Highland Center off of Spruce Street in Monterey.  You’ll get $5 off our long sleeve t-shirts and baseball caps that have the Highland County Maple Festival logo and “Virginia is for Maple Syrup Lovers”.

This is a great time to stock up on your holiday shopping and support local businesses.  So, come on out during Sweet Deal Days November 25 through December 2.  There’s potential for more organizations to participate up until those dates, so check out the full list with all the details at www.highlandcounty.org or you can give us a call at 540-468-2550.  Again, you can also come out to the Highland County Visitors Center at The Highland Center, and some of the participating organizations, to purchase a key chain if you need one and they’re just $5.

We appreciate all the participating organizations and everyone who has supported Sweet Deal Days.  We’ll have more about Wintertide on December 2nd in an upcoming story.
