Sweet Deal Days Are Back Starting September 4 in Highland County

Hi, this is Chris Swecker, Executive Director of the Highland County Chamber of Commerce.

I’m here today to talk to you about Sweet Deal Days.  Sweet Deal Days is an initiative that the Highland County Chamber started here last year and it’s a pretty simple concept.  If you have the current year’s Maple Festival keychain you can go to participating organizations and get deals and discounts.

We do several of these throughout the year and our current one is September 4 -10, 2023.  So again, the keychain that you would need to show is the 63^rd Highland County Maple Festival keychain that we gave out in 2023.  It’s a black keychain with white writing.  On the back it says ‘Virginia is for Maple Syrup Lovers.’  If you don’t have a keychain, you can get one from the Highland County Chamber for just $5 through the end of this year and you can go out to The Highland Center, at 61 Highland Center Drive, Monday through Friday between 9am and 4:30pm, if you’d like to purchase one.  Or you can give us a call at 540-468-2550 and we can get you one of those.

So as far as the participating organizations where you can get some deals, we’ll start off with Blue Grass Mercantile.  Monday through Sunday, again September 4 – 10, if you go by Blue Grass Mercantile, you’ll get $2 off one daily special.

If you’re looking for more food options, you can go to High’s Restaurant in downtown Monterey.   Monday through Sunday, September 4 – 10, each keychain holder will receive the following: 10% off any entrée, 15% off any entrée with an appetizer or 20% off any entrée with an appetizer and dessert.

Twice as Nice in Monterey is also having a sale with Sweet Deal Days.  Monday through Saturday, that’s September 4 – 9, any visitor with a keychain will get one free item.

If you’re looking for lodging in the area, The Farmhouse at Lucky Loop Hollow Farm, that’s south of Monterey, in the Mill Gap area.  If you book directly through the Farmhouse between September 4 -10 for a future booking, you’ll receive a 10% discount with your 2023 keychain.  To take advantage of this deal, you can call Marty directly at 540-414-2873.

And the Highland County Chamber itself will have official Maple Festival long sleeve t-shirts and hats for a discounted price from Tuesday, September 5, through Friday, September 8^th.  Just stop by our Visitor’s Center up at The Highland Center in Monterey between 9am and 4:30pm and you can take $5 off our Maple Festival t-shirts and baseball caps.
