Sweet Deals Throughout Highland County July 29-31

Hi this is Chris Swecker, Executive Director of the Highland County Chamber of Commerce, and I’m excited to talk to you today about our first ever Sweet Deal Days here in the Highland County community.  If you have a 62nd annual Highland County Maple Festival key chain, you just show it around to different businesses and organizations and you’ll get a deal discount or giveaway.  And our first weekend that we’ll be kicking this off will be Friday, July 29 through Sunday, July 31.

You can get the full list of all the participating organizations at www.highlandcounty.org/sweetdeal , but I’ll go ahead and go through some of them for you, what you can expect.

Allegheny Moto Camp, that’s a campground for motorcyclists just south of Monterey.  It just recently opened up here in Highland.  That will provide 10% off your nightly stay from Friday, July 29 through Sunday, July 31.

Back Creek Farms, they’re offering 10% off their entire shop down at their sugar camp on Back Creek Road.  That includes gift items, books, food and maple syrup.

Big Fish Cider in Monterey is offering half off tastings.

The Curly Maple in Monterey will give you a free cup of coffee Friday and Saturday.

The Farmhouse at Lucky Loop Hollow Farm, that’s a beautiful farm stay in the Mill Gap area south of Monterey.  Unfortunately, they’re booked from July 29th through the 31st, but if you book directly with them during that weekend for a future date in 2022 and bring your keychain, you can get 10% off.

Emerald Mountain Sanctuary, just south of Monterey, will have a summer foraging class on Saturday, July 30 and you can identify, collect and prepare wild edibles and medicinals in their beautiful outdoor setting and you can get $5 off of registration for that foraging class.

High’s Restaurant, right there in downtown Monterey, will offer 10% off the entire meal of each keychain holder all weekend long.

Twice As Nice, also in downtown Monterey, that’s the family clothing thrift store that benefits the Highland Medical Center, will give you one item for free if you show your keychain.

And finally, the Highland County Chamber of Commerce with our Visitor Center at The Highland Center, just off of Spruce Street in Monterey, will give $5 off official Highland County Maple Festival long sleeve t-shirts, hats and beanies and that will be Friday, July 29 from 3:30 to 6pm there at the Visitor Center.  That will be held alongside the Highland Farmers Market which will have a special Handmade in Highland market that Friday.

These are just some of the deals that we have going on right now and some more may be added by the time the July 29 weekend begins.  Check out our website www.highlandcounty.org/sweetdeal  Again to receive all these discounts, you have to show your 62nd annual Highland County Maple Festival keychain and that was given out at this year’s 2022 March Maple Festival.  It’s a navy blue key chain with white writing, says 62nd Highland County Maple Festival on it.  And if you don’t have one, you can purchase one from the Highland County Chamber for $3 through the end of 2022.  You can contact us directly by stopping at our office at The Highland Center in Monterey from 8:30 to 4:30 on Mondays through Fridays, or you can call us at 540-468-2550 or email us at events@highlandcounty.org
