The Highland County Arts Council Brings a Double Feature of Youth Programs to The Highland Center on February 3

Due to weather in January, the Highland County Arts Council had to delay their scheduled youth workshop. The cell phone photography workshop, however, will now be held on February 3 as part of a double feature of workshops in collaboration with The Wayne Theatre.

The first youth workshop of the day will teach students aged 10 and up how to use their smartphone to take the best photos. This class will be of special interest to any budding thespians who might want tips on how to market themselves for roles in the future. The class will meet from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Arts Council room at the Highland Center.

The second workshop on February 3 will meet from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Highland Center. This Stage Combat and Choreography class is for all ages and will teach students how to choreograph moves for stage to look realistic and engaging for the audience.

Students can attend both workshops and stay during the lunch break. Please bring a packed lunch if this is your plan.

Through a Virginia Commission for the Arts matching grant, The Highland County Arts Council is able to provide teaching artists from The Wayne Theatre in Waynesboro locally to students who are interested in the arts. Both classes are free, but registration is required by end of day on February 2. To register, call 540-468-2474.
