The Nature Conservancy Brews Up an Allegheny Experience

For the third year in a row, The Nature Conservancy worked with Virginia craft breweries to create the OktoberForest Virginia Collection. This collection includes four different beers, each brewed by different Virginia craft breweries, using ingredients collected from TNC’s signature landscapes.

I had the opportunity to speak with Zoe McGee, Program Coordinator for The Nature Conservancy’s Allegheny Highlands Program to talk more about work in our region as well as the Allegheny Highlands Beer, brewed by Fine Creek Brewing in Powhatan using wild sassafras leaves from the Warm Springs Mountain Preserve in Bath County.
