The Snowshoe Foundation’s Treasure on the Mountain Event Part 2

Treasure on the Mountain

TOTM24 Ticket FAQ

In part 1 of this story, we spoke with Dave Black, Executive Director of the Snowshoe Foundation to learn more about their philanthropic efforts. In Part 2, we learn more about their primary fundraising event, Treasure on the Mountain, taking place this year on August 3rd.

Mr. Black –

“Well Treasure on the Mountain is certainly our biggest event of the year and it’s our primary fundraiser. We raise, substantially all of the money that we get away throughout the year is raised in this one event. Now, we do have great corporate partners who sponsor us. We raise money through Snowshoe Foundation golf tournament, which is every year in June, we have a fall fundraising dinner, which this year will be September the 21st. And all of those events bring in money, but the Foundation certainly raises most of the money from Treasure on the Mountain every year.”

“As you know, this is a huge event. We sell 5000 tickets. We have a great festive family atmosphere here on the mountain and we give away $350,000 in cash and prizes. So it’s really a great day for everyone. There’s a lot of side action, there’s a lot of great food. This year we’re doing entertainment at the event and then at the Snowshoe Village after the event. And we’re doing a new progressive 50-50 raffle this year which is going to create another great prize for someone to win.”

“So the event will be Saturday, August 3rd, the gates are open at noon and the raffle itself will kick off at 2:00pm. We still have tickets for sale and you can get those at our website as well, www,snowshoeoundation.org.”

While the fundraiser activities will be the primary focus of the day, that isn’t to say those are the only reasons to attend.

“So we’re working really hard to make the Village a very festive and family oriented weekend, not just one day but the whole thing. So, obviously, on the 3rd, which is the day of the raffle, first and foremost Allegheny Mountain radio will be there, you guys will be broadcasting live for the second year in a row. We’re going to have the West Virginia Snowsports Museum set up we’ll have a giant kid’s zone set up so the kids will have some fun activities to do. All the shops around Snowshoe Village will be open throughout the day. And then in the evening, we’ll have live entertainment starting right as the raffle concludes. We’re going to have bands in the Village and some other great stuff set up out there throughout the evening. So, we hope that folks will plan to come and make a day of it, stay over on Snowshoe mountain that night, make a whole weekend. of it, you know. All of the usual Snowshoe amenities will be open in terms of the lake activity. So it really is a full weekend of great stuff up here on the mountain.”
